How I Got Here

Hi, my name's Marshall, and I've been playing guitar since I was fifteen years old back in State College Pennsylvania, and singing at family gatherings and such longer than I can remember.  Music has always been my passion though I can't say it's ever come easily to me, and so, about five years ago, I quit my salaried office job, moved to Illinois, and began the musical journey that has led me to where I am today.  I first started gigging in the Carbondale, IL area with local americana rockers the Bone Dry River Band, where I was able to sharpen my lead guitar chops, and then with the acoustic duo the Voyageurs, where I learned to sing harmonies, and just became a more solid musician overall.  Now I split my time between playing solo shows, alternating on lead guitar and bass with  The Lone Howl, and playing drums with The Tie Dye Family Band, and for Nashville artist Charles Lueker.  Southern Illinois has been very good to me, and I'd like to return the favor by entertaining as many people as I can with my music.
